Over 20 years conducting stock handling schools

Chook Kealey has been conducting stock handling schools throughout Australia since 2002 providing practical tools to create lasting change that can be implemented immediately.

He has worked with a wide range of people and livestock in a variety of settings.

Instinct Stock Handling is about working with the team, the culture, the stock, the systems and to look at things differently. Chook has conducted training with corporate agriculture, farms, stations, feedlots, abattoirs, saleyards, dairies, universities, trucking companies and studs.

While the livestock and settings have varied, the desire has remained constant, to share knowledge and skills that contribute to positive change within the industry.

Chook grew up on a cattle property in the South Burnett and developed a passion for animals, which led to training performance horses for seven years. Working with horses fueled a desire to find ways to make working with animals easier, for them and for us.

Chook then spent a number of years on stations in North Queensland managing large mobs of cattle in pastoral and intensive grazing systems. This experience gave him a solid skill set and understanding of what is possible with stock when we change our perspective.

Chook operates a commercial breeding and trading enterprise with his wife Jen and family in the hills around Walcha NSW.

Investing in Instinct Stock Handling enhances both the productivity and sustainability of livestock operations, improving outcomes for animals, handlers, and the overall business.
